New from Mattell in time for Christmas

It's Ostomy Otto.

Little Otto is a patient in the hospital. He wears a gown like yours.....

Otto has an ostomy just like you......

Help Otto change his ostomy bag.....
No, I am not making this up.

Ellie got one of these the other day complete with a functioning ostomy bag. Brilliant to make something scary and sometimes gross to little kids into a toy.

Ok, that's hilarious, and a little disturbing as well. Maybe if she plays with it enough, she can learn to take care of her bag herself. She seeme pretty smart -- I bet she'd figure it out!

I had this kid in class at Salem High School. This must have been after the original Otto grew up. I swear he looks just like Pecker Hennessey. All the Hennessey kids looked like that Otto. I can't remember if there was an Otto, or maybe Pecker was named Otto.
Anyway, I bet Otto will have a happy life being cared for by Ellie. I love that idea.

LMAO that doll is AWESOME! you're right, it will totally help make the ostomy seem "normal" and not scarey. definitly puts a positive spin on things.

I, not my daughter, am the one with the ostomy. But my daughter (age 3) has one of these dolls from Hollister and she plays with it like any other babydoll. She even took it to preschool for show and tell during "O" week. ( Ostomy is afterall and 'o' word...lol)
Her teacher said she did a very good job of explaining that "this is how my mommy goes poopy".
The doll has been a great learning tool for us. Hope your daughter will enjoy hers. Wishing her a full and speedy recovery.
