Home at Last

The Eagle has landed.

At just after 12 today, Abby moonwalked our girl out the front door for real.

We loaded her into the car and drove down the road. Eight moths late and with a girl that looked around a little as we went, but we are out the door.

And home:

We are settling in and have two sets of nurses coming this afternoon. one to set up Ellie's TPN and one as her overnight nurse.

Abby is exhausted, but we are home. Finally.

Hooray! Best day ever!! Ellie looked so happy heading out the door. You must feel like you're dreaming! I love seeing her with no cords! We are so happy for your whole family. We thought our 2 months were a long time, it was NOTHING compared to you guys. I am amazed at your character. Please continue to update.

Abby, Gib and Ellie - first off, Miss Abby that is the BEST MOONWALK I'VE EVER SEEN!!! To all of you - what a blessing to have your little one home, I've never had someone putting a baby in the car before bring me to tears as it did tonight. Here's to a comfortable transition home for the whole team. Thinking of all of you in your home with your family under one roof!

It wasn't just the moonwalk that was awesome - it was also Gib's chuckles. I am with the other saps who were in tears. And damned proud to be in such good company! Beautiful picture of Abby and Ellie at the front door. Enjoy the evening and keep us posted!

Really big hug,
Barbara

Thought my work day would never end so I could rush here to see Ellie go home. Ah, but it was worth the wait. Blessings to all of you as you start a whole new life: Ellie home with Mommie & Daddy. I like the sound of that! Congratulations!
